1 Information We Collect

1.1 Location Data

• Device GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude) — used solely to calculate accurate local prayer times
• Reverse-geocoded city and country name — used for display purposes and prayer name language detection
• Location data is processed on-device and is not transmitted to any external server by MiceTechSolution

1.2 User Preferences (Local Storage Only)

• Prayer calculation method preference (MWL, ISNA, Makkah)
• Hijri date adjustment setting (-1, 0, +1)
• Notification and reminder preferences
• Theme preference (Light, Dark, Gold)
• Manually set location (if user chooses to set manually)

All preferences are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences. We do not collect or store this data on any server.

1.3 Device and Usage Data (via AdMob)

• Advertising-related identifiers and interaction data collected by Google AdMob for serving advertisements
• This data is collected and managed by Google under their own privacy policy

2 How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Calculate accurate daily prayer times based on your location
• Display the correct prayer names in Malay or English based on your country
• Show and update the home screen widget and lock screen notification
• Send prayer time reminders as configured by you
• Display advertisements via Google AdMob to support free app development
• Improve app stability, performance, and user experience

3 Third-Party Services

Solat Countdown uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Google AdMob: In-app advertising services — collects device identifiers and usage data for ad targeting
• Google Play Services: Used to check device compatibility for AdMob. Not used on devices without Play Services (e.g. Huawei HMS devices)
• adhan (offline library): Prayer time calculation — runs entirely on-device, no data transmitted
• geocoding package: Reverse geocoding of coordinates to city/country name — may use device-level geocoding services

These third parties operate under their own privacy policies:

• Google Privacy Policy (incl. AdMob)
• Google Advertising Technologies

4 Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We do not operate any server that stores user data. Data may be shared only in these situations:

• With Google AdMob for advertising purposes as described above
• When required by law, regulation, court order, or legal process
• To protect rights, safety, security, and prevent fraud or abuse

5 Data Retention

All user preferences and cached data are stored locally on your device only. Uninstalling the app will permanently remove all locally stored data. MiceTechSolution does not retain any user data on external servers.

Data collected by Google AdMob is subject to Google's own data retention policies.

6 Data Security

Since Solat Countdown stores all data locally on your device and does not transmit personal data to our servers, your data security is primarily governed by your device's own security features. We recommend keeping your device updated and using screen lock protection.

We implement reasonable technical safeguards within the app to prevent unauthorized access to locally stored preferences.

7 Permissions Used

Solat Countdown requests the following Android permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — to determine your location for prayer time calculation
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) — to display prayer time notifications
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE — to run the prayer countdown service in the background
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — to restart the service after device reboot
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM / USE_EXACT_ALARM (Android 12+) — to trigger accurate prayer reminders
• WAKE_LOCK — to ensure countdown service remains active

All permissions are used solely for app functionality as described. We do not use permissions to collect data for advertising or analytics beyond what AdMob requires.

8 Your Rights and Choices

You have full control over your data:

• You may revoke location permission at any time via Android Settings — the app will use your last saved location or manual location instead
• You may clear all app data via Android Settings → Apps → Solat Countdown → Clear Data
• You may uninstall the app at any time to remove all locally stored data
• For AdMob ad preferences, you may opt out via your device's Google account ad settings

Since we do not store personal data on any server, there is no account to delete. For any privacy concerns, please contact us at the address below.

9 Children's Privacy

Solat Countdown is suitable for all ages and is not directed to children under 13 in a way that collects personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require registration or any personal data entry.

10 International Data Processing

MiceTechSolution does not transfer your data internationally as we do not operate servers that store user data. However, Google AdMob may process advertising-related data on servers located outside Malaysia. By using the app, you acknowledge that AdMob data may be processed in other countries under Google's privacy framework.

11 Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Solat Countdown after updates means you accept the revised policy.
